For centuries, Lepenac River flows through Donja Bitinja village in Štrpci municipality, where Serbs and Albanians live in harmony, as good neighbors. Driven by fear of being left without water after the construction of small hydro-power plants, they closed ranks in joint efforts to resist the devastation of natural ambiance. The villagers have organized several peaceful protests so far. By their presence, they are trying to prevent the works from being carried on. A healthy environment has brought together the members of two nations in the territory of Peć. Together, they stand up for their rights.
